Seafood Grimsby & Humber Alliance Group to host the UK reception at the North Atlantic Seafood Forum 2024

February 23, 2024

The North Atlantic Seafood Forum has had a long lasting strong bond to the seafood
industry in the United Kingdom. The UK attendees for this year’s NASF will be over 70 with
a broad range of sub-sectors from the seafood industry represented including investment,
aquaculture, processing, education and research, UK government and technology. This
year they will be joined in Bergen by The British Ambassador to Norway, Jan Thompson
CMG OBE.

Simon Dwyer, who has represented NASF in the UK for over 10 years, commented “We welcome
the British Ambassador’s attendance at NASF. It’s probably the best turn-out from the UK since I’ve
been involved with NASF. We have representatives from Scotland, London, and the south of England
plus a significant group from the Grimsby seafood cluster.”

The UK reception is being held on the 6th March where The British Ambassador to Norway, Jan Thompson CMG OBE will be present at the UK reception for the close of the conference sessions. At the reception, the Ambassador will welcome guests including those from the Seafood Grimsby & Humber Alliance Group, who will introduce Seafish Industry Authority to present their pioneering Seafood Carbon Emissions Profiling Tool. The Alliance will also introduce The University of Lincoln who will talk about skills and their Future Leaders programme. Simon Dwyer added “The work that the Alliance does in Grimsby and The Humber with decarbonisation and skills has now become a UK wide national engagement with partners in Scotland and the southwest of England. NASF will be a launch pad to share our messaging internationally.
